Hungaroring A “Proper” Circuit According To Williams’ Alex Albon

Williams driver Alexander Albon described the Hungaroring circuit in Budapest as a “proper driver’s circuit” ahead of Round 13 of the 2022 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

Thai-born Albon, who has scored all of Williams’ three points in 2022, will be hoping that the team can repeat their points-scoring heroics in Hungary from 2021, where both Nicholas Latifi and George Russell finished in the top 10.

“I’m looking forward to Hungary as it’s a nice, proper driver’s circuit, with lots of twists,” the 26-year-old said, adding: “I’m excited to see what we can extract from the new package, as it felt like we had a positive weekend in France.”

Albon’s Canadian team mate Latifi is also eager to return to Hungary, saying: “I’m excited to go back! Last year we had some good memories with a double points finish.”

After the Grove-based team introduced an upgrade package to Albon’s car in Silverstone, last weekend’s French Grand Prix was Latifi’s first experience of them, the Canadian keen to keep up the development.

“We’re looking to take the learnings from France to optimise the upgrade package a little bit more,” the 27-year-old explained.

Both drivers were also hopeful of taking advantage of the forecast adverse weather in Budapest this weekend.

Williams are bottom of the Constructors’ Championship, with Albon’s three points and Latifi yet to score.
