Hello and welcome to F1 News Today with Tillie!

Right, let’s take a look at what’s making news in the world of Formula 1 today…

First up, the mind games between Christian Horner and Toto Wolff continued over the weekend, with Wolff claiming he finds it a worrying that Horner things about it this much…

Wolff said…

“That he thinks about these things is a bit worrying!

“No, I think you must not forget that in 2018 and 2019 we had really hard battles against Ferrari at that stage…

“I think one of the years we were lying behind before shutdown, only in autumn we managed to turn it around!

“And these battles were really hard and no different to the current one…”

We look forward to this battle kicking off again in Turkey!

Something everyone has loved to see in recent years is the resurgence of McLaren, with the team battling from the back of the grid up to third in the Constructor’s Championship…

However, Andreas Seidl feels his team are still behind Mercedes and Red Bull in every area!

Seidl told The Express…

“Despite what happened at the end of the race in Russia, we have a team that is most of the time spot on with the strategy, with tyres and so on during a race, so I am very happy with the progress we are making!

“But of course, compared to the teams that are ahead of us in the Championship, we still have deficits, I would say, in all areas…

“That is why it is important after a weekend like Monza, for example, or after the pole position in Russia, that the first thing you have to do is analyse what you could have done better because there is always something you can do better!

“The moment you are satisfied with what you have achieved is the start of the decline so that is how we approach it…”

After years in the doldrums, it’s beautiful to watch this new approach from McLaren…

Jost Capito believes signing Alex Albon proves Williams aren’t a B-team, but says that’s not why he was chosen.

Speaking with The Race, Capito said…

“It shows and confirms that we are not a B-team…

“It’s not important for us to send this message to anybody, it’s just that it shows that we really do what is best for the team and we decide it within the team!

“We are not driven by anybody else than ourselves…

“That this message goes then outside it’s obvious, but we did not do that because of the message!”

“As a B team, you will never be world champion…”

“And if you make yourself dependent on any other company or any other team, then you will never win the world championship and you will not be credible within the team with having this message!

“With that, you give up on being world champion, and you just say you want to be part of the show…

“That’s it!”

Finally, with the Constructor’s Championship battle going down to the wire, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez has vowed to turn his season around, saying…

“There is still a long way to go!

“I have been in this position before and I will turn things around. I have no doubts…

“Every weekend it can turn around so I am looking forward to the rest of the year and we are in a big battle in the Constructors’…”

“I think the pace has improved quite a bit in the last few weekends…

“We just have to make sure we get the final bit together to transform the results!

“We have done it before and I am sure we can do this again…

“I fully believe in the team, there is still a long way to go!”
