Tony Quinn to bring his Simtek Formula 1 car to the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival

Motorsport entrepreneur Tony Quinn will drive his Simtek Formula 1 car – the Simtek S951 – at the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival on February 28 and March 1.

The Simtek S951 was raced in the 1995 Formula 1 season and it was the last Simtek Formula 1 car, with the team competing in the first five races of the season before folding.

Powered by a Ford Cosworth V8 with MTV the main sponsor, the S951 was a direct evolution of the 1994 car, the S941. The 1995 car was driven by Domenico Schiattarella and Jos Verstappen in period.

Scottish-born entrepreneur Quinn is a major player in Australian and New Zealand motorsport, owning a number of race tracks in Australia and New Zealand, including the likes of Queensland Raceway and Highlands Motorsport Park, as well as a significant stake in Supercars champions Triple Eight Race Engineering. The Simtek S951 is the latest car from Quinn’s car collection to appear at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

Quinn will drive the Simtek S951 in the Formula 1 category and they will be appearing in the Adelaide Marriott Grand Marquee on Sunday March 1.

The 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival will once again feature various categories, ranging from Formula 1 cars, V8 Supercars, sportscars, touring cars, motorbikes, drift cars and more with the action non-stop without a break in track activity at any stage of the day. Off track there will be car displays, kids’ zones, bars and food trucks, exhibitors and traders, activations and more, in a picnic in the park setting.Tickets to the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival are on sale now.
