Ferrari Reassigns Lewis Hamilton’s Race Engineer Riccardo Adami Ahead of 2026 Season

Ferrari has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer, Riccardo Adami, has been reassigned to a new role within the team ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season.

Hamilton endured a difficult debut year with the Scuderia in 2025, with the seven-time world champion failing to secure a Grand Prix podium for the first time in his Formula 1 career. While the 41-year-old struggled with Ferrari’s uncompetitive package, his on-track challenges were compounded by frequent radio exchanges that appeared to highlight communication issues between Hamilton and Adami on the pit wall.

In a statement issued on Friday, Ferrari announced:

“Scuderia Ferrari HP confirms that Riccardo Adami has moved to a new role within the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy as Driver Academy and Testing of Previous Cars Manager. In this position, his extensive trackside experience and Formula 1 expertise will contribute to the development of future talent and to strengthening performance culture across the programme.

“Scuderia Ferrari HP would like to thank Riccardo for his commitment and contribution in his trackside role and wishes him every success in his new position. The appointment of the new race engineer for car #44 will be announced in due course.”

Ferrari is set to unveil its 2026 livery on January 23, ahead of an expanded pre-season testing programme introduced in response to the sport’s new technical regulations. The first of three test sessions will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from January 26 to 30, with significant changes to both power units and chassis coming into effect for the new season.
