Formula 1 is the most famous event in the world of sports. These races have gained such a scale and popularity that not only sports fans gather at the event, but also everyone who wants to plunge into the unforgettable atmosphere and get a unique experience.

Races are held on the most famous tracks in the world, such as Monza, Monaco, Silverstone, Barcelona and others. Recently the Arab world has become interested in racing. Abu Dhabi and Jeddah received the stages of the royal races. The best racing drivers from different countries create exciting and even dramatic competitions there.

Why does the world love Formula 1 so much? Speed, technical skill and incredible dynamics. F1 cars are capable of speeds of more than 300 km/h! Incredible dynamism makes the audience hold their breath from tension! Despite the high speed, Formula 1 racing requires extreme concentration, instant reaction and the highest skill from the drivers.

Formula 1 racing is not just a sporting event, it is a platform for the development of advanced technologies in the field of cars. The technologies that are born in the process of being introduced into Formula 1 cars are often used in mass production of cars.

Obviously, the internal structure of Formula 1 cars is significantly different from what can be seen inside ordinary cars or even legendary luxury cars from movies, which must perform incredible stunts and create the best scenes. What exactly is the difference between Formula 1 cars? Let’s compare the technical skills of the royal racing cars with the world movie legends.

“Fast and Furious” changed everything

The 2001 film starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker helped to tell the world about street motorsport. The plot of the action movie is filled with true stories of racers from life and became a cult film at the beginning of the 21st century.

Not only the actions speak about the main characters of the picture, but also the cars they drive. For example, Brian O’Conner loves Japanese cars and is making his debut on a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Whereas Dominic Toretto prefers American classics.

Such cars give every fan of the movie series a choice. Someone loves a stylish and tuned Nissan Skyline like Brian’s or Dominic’s powerful 1970 Dodge Charger, which has become almost a symbol of all the “Fast and Furious”. Toretto himself told how his father helped him assemble this car, and he also calls it a “real beast” and is really afraid to get behind the wheel.

By the way, this Dodge in other big NASCAR races led Bobby Isaac to the championship in 1970. Such a car had an engine with 6 or 8 cylinders and a power of 400 horsepower. Of course, such an installation cannot be compared with current Formula 1 cars, but the modern generation of Dodge Charger still attracts many motorists.

According to the plot of “Fast and Furious”, Dominic helped Brian restore his Toyota Supra, and Toretto himself crashed the Charger after the final race. Not everyone manages to cope with such powerful engines. This applies to both the film and real life. However, it is not difficult to find a wrecked hellcat for sale that can be restored with minimal investment. Such a step will help you profitably get into possession of a cool car and feel like the owner of a Dodge Charger from Fast and Furious.

Formula 1. How did it all start?

The very name “Formula 1″ for these automobile competitions appeared from a set of technical rules. This is the “formula” according to which all participants must comply. The first stage of Formula 1 was held in 1950. The feast championship itself was filled with only 7 Grand Prix. The first world champion was Nino Farina. Cars of a certain capacity took part in the championship. The cars were equipped with a 1.5 liter supercharged engine, or 4.5 liters without supercharging. Then a whole new universe was launched in the world of auto racing. As many experts in the automotive field note, it is not his talent that leads to the victory of a Formula 1 pilot, but the technical equipment of his car.

The latest Formula 1 uses four-stroke V-shaped turbocharged 6-cylinder engines with a 90° cylinder camber angle. The engine capacity should not exceed 1.6 liters.

In the period from 2006 to 2014, atmospheric V8 engines with a volume of 2.4 liters were used. This era was remembered by fans of royal racing as the most intense and spectacular time at many stages of the Grand Prix. And the crowning achievement of this period was the triumphs of Michael Schumacher.

The “hybrid” era

Since the 2014 season (with the transition to turbocharged power plants), the maximum number of revolutions has been reduced from 18,000 to 15,000 rpm. In addition, there are restrictions on fuel consumption — no more than 100 kilograms per race and no more than 100 kilograms per hour. All this was done due to the environmental agenda, but the races have not lost their entertainment.

Interestingly, even to increase the sound volume of new engines, separate pipes for the flow of exhaust gases directed through the turbine bypass valve have been appearing in the exhaust system configuration since 2016. When the valve is closed, the sound is about 14% louder, when it is open — about 20-25%.

As for the total axle load, due to the weight of the new engines, the rules also provided for an increase in the minimum weight standards of the car from 642 kg to 690 kg. In the future, the minimum weight indicator only increased and as of the 2020 season was 746 kg, which was more than 100 kg higher than in 2013. In the hybrid era, the Mercedes team began to rule.

The Silver Arrows were able to create the best engine according to the new regulations, thanks to which they won all the Constructors’ Cup titles from 2014 to 2021 and all the individual titles from 2014 to 2020. But over the past three years, Red Bull has taken over the leadership. The star of this team, Max Verstapin, took 3 consecutive Formula 1 champion titles.

Judging by the above facts, it can be understood that the royal racing cars are not cars for public roads at all. Their essence is to compete with each other, bringing the power plant to maximum load. But car lovers are never averse to comparing them with other legendary cars.
