BWT Alpine Formula One Team has announced that Paul Aron will become its reserve driver in 2025.

The twenty-year-old Estonian is currently competing in his first season in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Hitech Pulse-Eight. With seven podiums in 2024, Paul is fourth overall and the second best rookie at the moment.

Still in the running for the title, he will line up in pole position for the long race this Sunday in Qatar, as part of the penultimate meeting on the calendar.

Flavio Briatore, Executive Advisor

“We are very pleased to have Paul join us as a BWT Alpine Formula One Team Reserve Driver in 2025. There is a generational renewal in Formula 1, as we see with many young drivers making an impact as soon as they enter the sport. We believe Paul is one of the best talents and we look forward to seeing him develop into an F1 driver.”

Paul Aron

“It’s incredible to be joining BWT Alpine Formula One Team. It’s definitely a great team for any young driver and I’m really pleased that Flavio and Oliver [Oakes] have given me this opportunity. Ahead of 2025 and the hard work that comes with being a reserve driver, I have a championship to focus on at the end of the year and I’ll be giving it my all to challenge for the title. I’m really looking forward to getting to work and continuing my motorsport career.”
