In Formula 1, un undercut è quando un pilota effettua un pit stop prima di un rivale diretto per montare pneumatici freschi e sfruttare la maggiore aderenza per ottenere tempi sul giro più veloci. L’obiettivo è costruire abbastanza vantaggio temporale affinché, quando il rivale effettua il proprio pit stop, il pilota che ha effettuato l’undercut si ritrovi davanti in pista.
