F1 meets Marvel: Williams launches Iron Man Comic with Albon and Sainz

Williams F1 will be joining the Marvel Universe in a landmark collaboration between the storied racing team and Marvel Comics.

Drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, along with Williams Team Principal James Vowles, will star in a one-shot comic book titled Iron Man: Racing Towards Doom, available as a special event-exclusive variant at the Monaco Grand Prix in June.

This unique collaboration between Williams and Marvel will be available more widely in comic shops across the United States from October.

The story centres on the Williams team as they come together to “take on their biggest challenge yet,” battling the nefarious and iconic Marvel villain Doctor Doom. The narrative unfolds during a racing season, with Marvel’s roster of heroes—including Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America—also playing supporting roles.

Luke Timmins, Director of Merchandise and Licensing at Williams, said: “Alex and Carlos are already heroes to our millions of fans, and now they get to prove it in print by uniting with the Marvel Super Heroes to save racing from Doctor Doom.”

“We are proud to be bringing these two universes together for the first time, and hope it gives fans another way to find and fall in love with our iconic Atlassian Williams F1 Team. There is no better place than Miami to launch a unique collaboration like this, and with special edition covers for races around the world the story is only just beginning.”

Fans attending the Miami Grand Prix will be able to pre-order the comic, with Marvel—alongside Williams sponsor Kraken—hosting an activation featuring a mural of its heroes. Special edition variants of the comic will also appear at races in Silverstone, Madrid, Singapore, Austin, and Las Vegas.

Williams’ partnership with Marvel marks another multi-race crossover between a Formula 1 team and a major pop culture franchise in 2026, following Haas’ collaboration with TOHO CO., LTD., the parent company of Godzilla.
