Helmut Marko Seems To Know Adrian Newey’s Next Destination

Truth be told, about as interesting as the sight of the incredible Lando Norris winning his maiden F1 triumph (as seen most recently at Miami) is the prospect of where Adrian Newey could go next in his glorious F1 journey.

It’s a question that has left fans, as seen in the last few weeks, a bit perplexed. One moment, there is clarity and the other, total confusion.

The biggest question- even after Lando Norris’s refreshing triumph at the Miami Grand Prix made different headlines for a change- returns back to its original stage:

Where might the great Adrian Newey go next?

Will the legendary figure of Formula 1 head to any team in particular in the near future or will he simply take up a consultant sort of role as the latter too, could be a reality.

There are legions of fans who think that Newey may even go to a seemingly weaker team on the grid in a bid to give the twilight years of his F1 career a brand-new and exciting challenge. The logic behind this is to try his earnest bit to up the fortunes of a team down in the doldrums.

But then, the F1 majority seems to think that the next destination has already been decided and it is but a matter of time before the sport sees an official announcement. After all, Adrian Newey himself was recently spotted around Maranello, as reported by some major publications.

That said, it appears that Helmut Marko has some clarity on the subject

In what is clearly the burning question in the F1 world, one of Red Bull’s most revered senior figures, Helmut Marko has recently offered his thoughts as to where Adrian Newey might head next.

Here is what he shared in no uncertain terms:

“What colour do I see Newey in the future? I think the red clashes a bit with the dark blue. But I think anything is possible with a great colour like green.”

Having said that, should Adrian Newey, whose engineering prowess and unrivalled engineering design talent have yielded no fewer than 13 world championships, head to Aston Martin (as purported by Marko), it could bring together two titans of the F1 world- Fernando Alonso and Newey himself.

Having said that, the prospect of seeing Newey at Aston Martin is a brilliant idea as alluded to by the F1 double world champion, who happened to share his excitement should it come true:

“I always wanted to work with him once in my life. I respect him a lot. I consider him the best probably F1 ever had, a legend of the sport. I feel in a way privileged to drive alongside him in the paddock, obviously as a competitor, but I feel lucky to be part of his journey and he was part of my journey in a way as well because I always competed against his cars.”

But until there is a proper conclusion about Adrian Newey’s actual F1 destination, doubts and punts will grow in size. Hopefully there is clarity on the hot topic soon!
