Toto Wolff’s 9-Year-Old Son Suffers Frightening Crash in Karting Race, Receives Medical Attention
Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff‘s son, Jack, has walked away unscathed from a dangerous crash during the IAME Warrior Final on Friday, October 23. The nine-year-old was running in the lead of the race when he collided with French-Moroccan driver Nahyl Elgahoudi.

Jack recently claimed the championship title in the IAME Series Italy X30 U10 category. Following this, he was battling it out during the X30 Mini, as on the final lap, the two drivers locked their front wheels while in battle as Elgahoudi went over Wolff’s kart.
The kart in second place hit Wolff’s shoulder as it landed back onto the track facing the wrong way. He was then hit by British racer Dimitar Uzunov. Thankfully, none of the three young drivers was hurt.
Veteran journalist Thomas Maher noted that Wolff, Elgahoudi and Uzunov all walked away unharmed from the incident after receiving precautionary medical treatment after the accident.
Toto Wolff’s Son Left “Happy” After Claiming Title

Jack shared his thoughts after winning the IAME Series Italy in September, saying that he was delighted to have claimed the title. He also added that what made the victory even sweeter was that he was not expecting to win the championship coming into the year.
“It was good. We had a lot of wins and some bad races, but in the end, we fought well and we won the championship, so I’m really happy,” said Wolff. (via PlanetF1)
“From the season, I did not know I would win nearly every single round, so I was really surprised that I was up there. It’s really competitive. There’s a lot of good drivers fighting in the championship, and we came here on the first step,” he added.

Jack has often been spotted in the F1 paddock alongside his parents, with the most recent example being the Monaco Grand Prix in June.
Toto Wolff on Son Jack’s Motorsport Interest
Toto has shared that his son Jack is simply not interested in doing anything else other than racing. He also added that this is his son’s way of ‘growing up’, rather than being a ‘spoiled Monaco international school kid.’
“There is nothing else that interests him, it is all about driving, driving a simulator, driving the go-kart. If there are four days that he is not driving, he asks: ‘When can I drive again, when can I drive again?’ When he’s racing, it’s not something that I love, but I can’t change it,” said Wolff. “I really try to compartmentalize that because he is nine, it is his first racing season, and he is doing better than my expectations were. He might struggle when he gets into cars, he may not, and I think judging a nine-year-old’s possible career trajectory is not too early.
“We like to go to the races; for him, it is a way of growing up, rather than to be a spoiled Monaco international school kid,” he added.

Wolff also added that while he has an understanding of what young drivers need to do to be successful given his experience in motorsports, he still is an ‘irrational and emotional’ father when it comes to Jack.
