LEGO Unveils APXGP Team Race Car from F1: The Movie for 2026 Speed Champions Line

The LEGO Group has revealed the latest addition to its Speed Champions range the APXGP Team Race Car (77252) from F1: The Movie, set to launch on January 1, 2026. The 268-piece set brings the on-screen Formula 1 action to life, featuring a sleek black-and-gold livery and two exclusive minifigures based on the film’s stars, Brad Pitt and Damson Idris.

After a year dominated by real-world F1 models in the Speed Champions lineup, this movie-inspired release offers a fresh twist. The APXGP car’s colour scheme and cinematic connection make it stand out from the 2025 range, while still retaining the authentic racing detail fans expect from LEGO’s motorsport builds.

A Faithful Recreation of the Movie Car

Designed for builders aged 10 and up, the APXGP Team Race Car includes many of the same design cues seen in the 2025 film, including sponsor decals, wider Pirelli-branded rear tyres, and its distinctive gold accents.

The set also features two driver minifigures Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) and Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) both equipped with detailed helmets, wigs, and accessories like a wrench that doubles as a brick separator and sticker tool. Each minifigure sports exclusive printed designs, including alternate faces without sunglasses, marking the first-ever LEGO minifigure appearances for Pitt and Idris.

A Rare Dual-Minifigure Speed Champions Set

Unlike most single-car Speed Champions sets, which typically include one driver, the APXGP Team Race Car includes two minifigures, making it a standout release for collectors and fans of F1: The Movie.

Builders can use the LEGO Builder app to follow digital instructions, zoom in, rotate the model in 3D, and track their progress as they assemble the detailed race car.

Price and Availability

The LEGO Speed Champions APXGP Team Race Car (77252) will be available worldwide from January 1, 2026, priced at £22.99 / $27.99 / €27.99. The set joins other 2026 Speed Champions releases, including 77255 Lightning McQueen and 77256 The Time Machine from Back to the Future, giving the theme a strong start to the new year.

With its blend of cinematic flair, authentic F1 design, and exclusive celebrity minifigures, the APXGP Team Race Car is set to become one of the most talked-about LEGO Speed Champions sets of 2026.
