Daniel Ricciardo Returns as Liam Lawson Holds Concert in Texas Ahead of United States GP
Daniel Ricciardo reunited with Liam Lawson in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, October 22, ahead of the United States Grand Prix. The former Racing Bulls teammates met at a special concert that brought together Formula 1 personalities and country music performers.
Racing Bulls shared a picture of the pair with the caption, “Nothing like seeing a familiar face before hitting the stage.” The post highlighted their reunion nearly two years after Lawson replaced Ricciardo at the team.
The Australian made his appearance ahead of the United States GP in Texas, where his playful personality has produced several memorable moments in the past.

Daniel Ricciardo Reunites With Liam Lawson at Austin Concert
Lawson hosted Garage Sessions with Liam Lawson and Friends at Inn Cahoots in Austin. The event formed part of Esses Bazaar ATX, a gathering that combined motorsport culture with live entertainment during race week.
The New Zealander performed alongside his brother Marcus Lawson and childhood friends Thomas and Harrison. Country music artists Drake Milligan, Alison Nichols, Jonathon Capeci, Scoot Teasley and Jess Farren also featured in the lineup.
Former teammate Isack Hadjar and current teammate Arvid Lindblad joined Ricciardo among the guests. Their attendance brought together drivers from different stages of the Racing Bulls lineup, although the evening focused on music rather than competition.

According to Motorsport, Lawson had not performed publicly since he was 11. The 24-year-old admitted that taking the stage made him more nervous than competing in Formula 1.
The concert revealed a different side of Lawson, whose professional life is largely centered around racing. For Ricciardo, the occasion offered a chance to support his former teammate outside the paddock.
Daniel Ricciardo’s Love for Texas and His Past US GP Shenanigans
Ricciardo’s love for Texas extends beyond his past races in Formula 1. During the 2022 United States Grand Prix weekend, he arrived at the Circuit of the Americas on horseback, dressed in cowboy boots, jeans and a Stetson hat.
The Australian embraced the local culture with his trademark humor. He even gave the horse a playful nickname, “Horsey McHorse,” adding an amusing detail to his appearance.
His enthusiasm for Texas also inspired his outfits during subsequent visits. Cowboy hats and boots became familiar parts of his race-weekend wardrobe, reflecting his fondness for the region’s traditions.
However, Ricciardo’s latest appearance came after his Formula 1 career ended in 2024. Lawson replaced him following the Singapore Grand Prix that September, marking a turning point for both drivers.
