If you actually think about it, then you would probably realise that former team principal of Alpine, Otmar Szafnauer is one of the more interesting personalities in the F1 world and yet, someone who has not really remained in much highlight.

That is when the Romania-born former team principal of a major French constructor, which is still on the F1 grid, was responsible for the creation of a system that back in 2009 released the Formula 1 timing and Track Position Application (official) on the Apple iPhone.

However, that alone does not make the man born in a tiny Romanian village but one who went on to the USA for higher education interesting.

Truth be told, what’s rather interesting about the 59-year-old is that where current news reports stand, then it is believed that Otmar Szafnauer might actually be associated with the top flight of motor-racing, yet again.

Now, how is that possible?

According to credible reports and insights, it is being said that Otmar Szafnauer might be contemplating about working out the possibility of having a brand new team enter the sport. And should investments, major planing and the entire gaggle of activities associated with the same fall in place, we could see Otmar Szafnauer again in the sport.

That being said, what is also being reported is that Mr. Szafnauer is currently involved with the funding of an American team that wishes to enter the sport. Once the announcement is done and things line up as expected, one could actually see an eleventh F1 team entering the sport’s highest annals.

Would that not be exciting?

Further insights from this subject reveal the fact that Mr. Szafnauer is already speaking to several investors that are based in North America who desire funding a brand new Formula 1 team. This is precisely the eleventh team that could get on the grid should everything transpire as expected.

He also made clear that the new team that wishes to enter Grand Prix racing as we know it is not actually the Andretti racing outfit, which might have been the team that many would have thought about. But that is not it.

All of that being said, Formula 1 racing has become a sort of a hot property, once again, in the US market. Part of that is down to the sport’s massive popularity, which spreads like wildfire given the competition has such ceaseless and blazing competition to offer. But a reason for that, if it must be said, could also be the new-age racing fan; the youngster who has boosted F1’s popularity thanks to a social media cloud aided by interesting content created around the space, such as Netflix’s Drive To Survive.

Furthermore, there’s the yet-to-be-released Brad Pitt-starrer F1 movie. Besides, F1 really rocked the show in its first-ever visit to Las Vegas- did it not?
