Rafael Câmara The Man to Beat in Bahrain

Rafael Câmara once again proved to be the one to beat, securing his second consecutive Pole Position of the season in a thrilling Formula 3 Sakhir Qualifying session. The TRIDENT driver edged out Callum Voisin in a tightly contested battle, with Câmara’s late 1:49.214 being enough to claim P1. Voisin, driving for Rodin Motorsport, finished just 0.156s behind in second, while TRIDENT’s Charlie Wurz secured third.

The session began with Nikola Tsolov setting the early pace, posting a 1:50.506, which put the Campos Racing driver 0.169s ahead of Christian Ho from DAMS. James Wharton of ART Grand Prix was close behind in P3. With 18 minutes remaining, all drivers returned to the pits for fresh tyres before heading back out for a second round of hot laps.

Voisin briefly took the lead with a 1:49.882, placing him 0.023s ahead of Alessandro Giusti from MP Motorsport. Câmara moved into third, just ahead of Tsolov, before all drivers pitted again for one final push with new rubber. Câmara set the fastest lap early in the final attempt, clocking a 1:49.214 to reclaim P1. Voisin was fastest in the first sector but couldn’t match Câmara’s time, finishing second. Wurz completed the top three, while Ho took fourth, ahead of Bruno del Pino from MP Motorsport.

The top 10 also saw Tuukka Taponen lead ART in P6, followed by Noah Stromsted. Tsolov finished eighth, with Giusti in ninth. AIX Racing’s Freddie Slater rounded out the top 10, ahead of the Hitech TGR duo of Martinius Stenshorne and Joshua Dufek, who completed the top 12.

In the Sprint Race tomorrow, Dufek will start from pole as the grid is reversed, with the race scheduled to begin at 13:15 local time.
