The last that Max Verstappen won a Formula 1 Grand Prix this season was two and a half months ago. That is not how Max Verstappen usually operates. He is out there to grab wins, to initiate attacking situations and to make the most out of them. He’s done that day in and day out.

Just last season, the famed Belgium-born driver created a world record for scoring the most number of consecutive race victories dominating the sport with an iron-fisted aura.

But so much has happened since the Red Bull driver aced a Formula 1 Grand Prix, which was actually on June 23 at Spain, that it’s hard to believe. To give a fair amount of idea of that means is to observe some key global happenings.

In the time since Max last won an F1 race, Carlos Sainz, his former teammate finally announced his future F1 destination, which as it turns out, is going to be Williams. Meanwhile, the cinema lover got to see yet another edition of the film Deadpool and even Donald Trump got shot and escaped death in the United States during an intense rally speech.

In such time, Verstappen, who lest it not be forgotten, is a triple world champion, often complained bout a less-than-competitive car, despite putting up a fighting performance to the likes of Lando Norris of McLaren, who remains, as does now Oscar Piastri, arguably the biggest thorn in the way of what could still be a fourth driver’s title.

Having said that, for the young Red Bull man, who drives and wins like a machine that has no stop button, what would be the first and foremost important step in the bid to pick another title is to return to winning ways. This means, without much doubt, targeting a new Grand Prix win,

It is something that he has done habitually now in the motorsport world and since the past few years. But what could be possibly better than having a win at his home racing event, i..e. Dutch Grand Prix?

As a matter of fact, as on date, Max has claimed three wins at the Dutch GP, and seized each of them with Red Bull. A fourth win, should it actually transpire in the next few days, would hand him yet another world record for winning the most number of Dutch GP events ahead of anyone on the current grid.

Having said that, the key questions that Red Bull’s man who’s gunning from glory at his home race would have to answer are the following:

Is the car assigned to him and for his disposal really got speed? Can it beat McLaren? Moreover, how can anyone decide so easily about Max post the summer-break time with him having been clearly away and perhaps not even sim-racing all that much?

That being told, the last time around, it was Max and none else, who claimed the pole position and later, went on to win that particular Grand Prix.

The likes of McLaren, a year back in time, were still finding those bursts of speed to set up some heightened performances this year at Red Bull. Having said that, the legendary star of F1 could have begun contemplating whether this year, in terms of what’s to come, may not even fetch him a solitary victory.

But even if that happens, we shall be hearing a lot about the constant rush between two outstanding drivers: Lando Norris, formerly, a child, now, a full time racing prodigy and Max Verstappen, who is, let it be known, going to enter his home racing event with that added desire to return to winning ways.
