Lando Norris-Owned Team Gets F2 Approval, Hires Ex-Team Bosses Who Oversaw Leclerc, Piastri’s Title Win
Lando Norris‘ new racing outfit, LN4 Fusion, has officially received approval to race in Formula 2 in 2027. The reigning Formula 1 world champion has also hired Rene Rosin as the team principal, who was at PREMA Racing until January this year.

A statement from the team after the approval to race in F2 on Wednesday said that ‘securing a place on the F2 grid represents a particularly important achievement,’ as it completes the outfit’s goal of covering all of the junior formulae.
Rosin will serve as the squad leader across LN4 Fusion’s racing portfolio, which includes the Formula Regional European Championship, Formula 3 and now Formula 2. The Italian executive enjoyed a legendary career at PREMA from 2006 to 2026, during which he saw Pierre Gasly (2016), Charles Leclerc (2017), Mick Schumacher (2020) and Oscar Piastri (2021) win the F2 championship while driving for the Italian team.
Alongside Rosin, Dan Hazlewood will serve as the team principal for UK-based operations, while another former PREMA key figure, Guillaume Capietto, will be the racing director. Dan Richards will serve as the CEO and overall head of the project.

F2 Boss Welcomes Lando Norris’ LN4 Fusion to the Series
F2 CEO Bruno Michel has welcomed Norris’ LN4 Fusion team to the series. In an official statement on Wednesday, he explained that he believes the new outfit will make a big contribution to the junior championship in 2027.
“I am pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship,” said Michel.
The team co-owned by Norris will be replacing AIX Racing for the 2027-29 F2 cycle. LN4 Fusion has acquired key assets including infrastructure and equipment from AIX ahead of 2027, and has taken over the German outfit’s F3 entry for 2027 as well.
LN4 Fusion is yet to announce its driver lineup for the 2027 F2 season. But James Egozi, Gabriel Gomez and Dion Gowda have been announced as the team’s F3 lineup, featuring all rookies. On Thursday, the team also announced Miguel Costa as its first signing for the Formula Regional program.

CEO of Lando Norris’ Racing Outfit Delighted After F2 Entry Approved
Richards has shared an official statement following the approval of LN4 Fusion’s F2 entry for the 2027-29 cycle. He said the whole team is ‘incredibly proud’ following the development.
“We are incredibly proud to have been selected to join the F2 grid for 2027. This is a significant milestone for LN4 Fusion and an important step towards delivering the vision we set out when we launched the team in September,” told Richards.
“From the outset, our ambition has been to build a competitive and sustainable motorsport organization with a clear development pathway for drivers and an environment in which talented people can succeed,” he added.
Richards maintained that F2 is ‘central’ to this ambition of the team, as it is the feeder series to F1 and serves as the place for young drivers to prepare for one of the most difficult challenges in motorsports. Richards also described this move as ‘only the beginning’ in the team’s journey.
