Lando Norris launches LN4 Fusion junior team and driver development programme

• Lando Norris has co-founded LN4 Fusion, a new multi-category junior team targeting championships including Italian F4, FRECA, Formula 3 and potentially Formula 2.
• The project will be backed by experienced leadership including former Prema chief René Rosin, while Norris will also launch the fully funded LN4 Legacy Programme to provide young drivers with coaching, mentorship and career support.
• Norris aims to create a complete development pathway for the next generation of drivers, combining a competitive race team with an independent talent programme designed to help promising drivers reach Formula 1.

Lando Norris has put his name and famous neon colours behind a new multi-championship junior single-seater team, with the reigning Formula 1 world champion co-founding LN4 Fusion and launching a driver development initiative.

Fresh off the back of his Dutch Grand Prix win and having announced a contract extension with McLaren to stay until the end of 2030, Norris announced ahead of Monza that LN4 Fusion will compete in the likes of Italian F4, FRECA and Formula 3.

Having already begun a British Formula 4 testing programme, the outfit will look to secure a future entry into the championship, while also making an application to participate in Formula 2 after acquiring the assets of AIX Racing, which competes in F2 and F3.

An investment group led by Dan Richards will spearhead LN4 Fusion commercially and in terms of corporate strategy. Storied ex-Prema chief Rene Rosin will be Team Principal of the F2 and F3 operations, while Dan Hazlewood will lead the UK side of the team.

The LN4 Legacy Programme will be the driver development programme being championed by Norris. Fully funded and independent, it will also have support from the Briton’s own management company, ADD.

Julian Rouse will lead the initiative, aiming to scout and support upcoming talent with the ambition that they’ll receive the same coaching and mentorship that Norris did on his way to Formula 1’s summit.

“I’ve been really lucky to have some amazing people around me throughout my career, and I know that getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent,” said Norris in the announcement.

“You need the right people around you, the right support and the right opportunities at the right time. That’s what these two projects are all about. LN4 Fusion is about building a race team that can compete with the best in junior motorsport, with great people and a great environment for drivers to develop.

“The LN4 Legacy Programme is about helping talented young drivers get opportunities they might not otherwise have. “For me, they naturally fit together. I want to help create opportunities for the next generation, both on and off the track, and hopefully make a real difference to young drivers coming through the sport.”

Richards continued: “We have assembled a rare combination and secured the right sporting leadership in the industry: an established operation, a Formula 1 World Champion, the most successful team principal in junior single-seater racing over the past two decades, world-class motorsport expertise, significant investment and a shared ambition to build a team capable of competing at the highest levels of the sport.”

Rosin said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute my experience to an independent, vision-driven sporting programme with strong backing, a clear long-term vision and the resources required to build it properly.

“Having Lando on board adds a further dimension to this project. He has come through the junior single-seater ranks and understands its demands. His involvement will make a real difference to the team.”

Hazlewood added: “Over the past 25 years, we have built Fusion Motorsport around preparation, discipline and driver development. That experience has given us a very clear understanding of what young drivers need in order to make the transition from karting into single-seater racing.”

And Rouse continued: “The best young drivers all have talent. What often makes the difference is everything around them. Throughout my career I’ve seen how the right environment, experienced people and the right support at the right time can unlock a driver’s potential.

“Our ambition is to create a complete support ecosystem around every driver, bringing together coaching, performance, technical expertise, mentoring and guidance both on and off the track, so they have every opportunity to maximise their potential.”
