Early Life and Karting

Born on 20 January 2003 in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, Jack Doohan is the son of five-time Grand Prix motorcycle World Champion Mick Doohan. Growing up in a motorsport family, Jack was introduced to racing at a young age.

Doohan began his karting career in 2012 at the age of nine, after receiving his first kart from former neighbor and seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher. He quickly showcased his talent, winning the Australian Karting Championship in 2015 and 2016.

Junior Single-Seater Career

In 2018, Doohan graduated to single-seater racing, competing in the F4 British Championship with TRS Arden Junior Racing Team. He secured three wins and finished fifth in the standings, just one point behind teammate Dennis Hauger.

Doohan continued his development in 2019, participating in the Euroformula Open Championship with Double R Racing and the F3 Asian Championship with Hitech Grand Prix. He claimed two podiums in Euroformula Open and finished second in the F3 Asian Championship.

FIA Formula 3 Success

The Australian driver made his FIA Formula 3 Championship debut in 2020 with HWA Racelab. Despite a challenging season, Doohan learned valuable lessons and showcased his potential.

In 2021, Doohan joined Trident Racing for his second FIA Formula 3 campaign. He emerged as a title contender, securing four wins, including an impressive double victory at Spa-Francorchamps, and six podiums. Progression to FIA Formula 2

After his impressive Formula 3 performance, Doohan graduated to the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2022 with Virtuosi Racing. He adapted quickly to the new category, securing three wins, six podiums, three pole positions, and four fastest laps, ultimately finishing sixth in the standings.

Doohan continued with Virtuosi Racing for the 2023 Formula 2 season, further refining his skills and consistency. He claimed three victories, five podiums, two pole positions, and two fastest laps, securing third place in the championship.

Formula 1 Debut and Alpine Reserve Role

Doohan’s performances caught the attention of the Alpine Formula 1 team, and he was signed as a reserve driver for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. This role provided him with valuable experience and opportunities to work closely with the team.

In 2024, Doohan made his Formula 1 debut, replacing Esteban Ocon at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This appearance showcased his readiness to compete at the highest level of motorsport.
