Isack Hadjar Had a Mixed Opening Day in Mexico

The paddock encounter with the fan came after a challenging start to Hadjar’s Mexico City GP weekend. However, the Frenchman bounced back in the second session.
Isack Hadjar encountered a power unit issue early in the FP1 session that cost him valuable track time, though the team managed to get him back out. He finished 11th on the timing sheet, 1.417 seconds off the pace of session leader Charles Leclerc. He was outpaced by Red Bull reserve driver Ayumu Iwasa, who was fifth fastest in Max Verstappen’s car.
With the regular driver line-up returning and his power unit issues resolved, Hadjar showed significant improvement. He set a lap time of 1:18.237, finishing 0.410 seconds behind leader Leclerc in sixth. His teammate Verstappen finished in fifth place.

The second day of the 2026 Mexico Grand Prix resumes with FP3 at 11:30 AM local time, followed by qualifying at 3 PM local time, which will set the grid for Sunday’s main event.
