Daniel Ricciardo has taken to social media to share his thoughts and feelings after the announcement of his departure from RB, which brings an end to his second stint in Formula 1. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Ricciardo reflected on his “wild and wonderful” F1 journey.

“I’ve loved this sport my whole life,” Ricciardo wrote. “It’s wild and wonderful and been a journey.”

“To the teams and individuals that have played their part, thank you.”

“It’ll always have its highs and lows but it’s been fun and truth be told I wouldn’t change it. Until the next adventure.”

The Australian driver also acknowledged the passionate fans of the sport, stating, “To the fans who love the sport sometimes more than me haha thank you.”

Ricciardo’s F1 career, spanning 14 seasons, has been marked by both highs and lows. Despite the challenges, he remains positive about his experience. “It’ll always have its highs and lows but it’s been fun and truth be told I wouldn’t change it. Until the next adventure,” he concluded in his message.

Throughout his time in F1, Ricciardo has competed for several teams, including HRT, Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Renault, McLaren, and most recently, RB. His accomplishments include 257 race starts, three pole positions, eight wins, 32 podium finishes, and 1329 points, with a best finish of third in the drivers’ championship.

Following Ricciardo’s departure, Red Bull junior Liam Lawson will take his place for the remainder of the season, starting from the United States Grand Prix in Austin. This move allows Red Bull to assess Lawson’s performance alongside Yuki Tsunoda, who has already secured a contract with RB through 2025.
