The BWT Alpine Formula One Team kicked off its 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship season on track on Monday with the first appearance of the A525 and its drivers Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Pierre and Jack shared the limited 200-kilometre programme as part of the team’s first of two filming days. Today’s run also marked the dynamic debut of the team’s new partners, including Eni, MSC, OAKBERRY, Mercado Libre, Arctic Wolf, Castore and MODO Casino, alongside title partner BWT in the striking A525 livery.
The team, the A525 and the drivers will return to the track on Wednesday 26th February for the first day of official Formula 1 pre-season testing in Bahrain. Jack will be in action on Wednesday morning before being relieved by Pierre in the afternoon and on Thursday morning. Jack will return to the A525 on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, then Pierre will finish testing on Friday afternoon.
Pierre Gasly: “It’s an incredible feeling to be back on track and driving the A525 for the first time. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to the car and thank you for all the hard work you’ve put into preparing for this campaign. This is just a test run with limited running so we’re not really getting the full potential out of the car yet, but the first few sensations were nice and I’m really looking forward to really pushing for the official pre-season test later this week. I have to say the new livery looks really nice so I hope everyone will be happy to see the A525 in action.”
Jack Doohan: “We had a great first day on track in Bahrain and I’m sure everyone in the team is really ready for the new season now. It’s my first time driving in a shakedown so it was a great experience, especially with the filming vehicles on track! The car felt good so thanks to everyone at Enstone and Viry-Châtillon for their time and dedication in preparing for 2025. Pierre and I are looking forward to Wednesday when we start pre-season testing. It’s an intense three days with lots to do to develop the A525 before the season starts.”
Oliver Oakes, Team Principal: “It’s always a proud moment when a new car hits the track for the first time, so congratulations to everyone at Enstone and Viry-Châtillon for all the hard work they’ve put into developing the A525 for this season. Despite the overcast skies and strong gusts, we had a good day’s running in Bahrain with 200 kilometres covered and split evenly between Pierre and Jack. It was important that they were both able to get their bearings ahead of three intense days of testing later this week. There are obviously a number of key areas for us to continue learning and improving and we look forward to continuing the hard work on Wednesday, with Jack in the morning and Pierre in the afternoon.”
